PC applications in the field of food packaging have significantly narrowed following the reports on BPA in baby bottles, particularly in 2011,after the limited or prohibited PC usage in several fields. Facing with limited PC usage and increasing concernon the environment, manufacturers have been looking for alternative materials. In this context, copolyester has gained industry attention.

PCTG has excellent properties: over 92% light transmittance, excellent impact resistance and chemical resistance, superior moldability, heat resistance and scratch resistance, and more importantly, eco-friendliness, BPA-free and compliance with the US FDA and other regulations. As such, PCTG has been tested with satisfactory results in the applications of outdoor sport water bottles and household food blenders. Some manufacturers also test its use in baby bottles. In short, PCTG material has been gaining ground in the market due to its excellent performance.
