In recent years, some specialty engineering plastics such as PPA,PA6T, and LCP are increasingly used with the miniaturization of electronic components. Following this trend, the demand for processing stabilizer for these plastics are growing as well.
Due to insufficient thermal stability or poor antioxidant efficiency at high temperature, traditional antioxidants such as 168、1076 and 1098, etc. can’t meet thermal stability requirements during the processing of those engineering plastics (the processing temperature often exceeds 320 degrees). The use of both main and supplementary antioxidants with special structures becomes a common practice to meet the needs of high temperature processing. Examples of these antioxidants include 1790, 3114 from U.S. Cytec, PEP-Q from Clariant, and 9228 from DOVER. In some extreme applications, coupling these dual agents system with BASF’s HP-136 will be more effective in retaining the whiteness of high temperature plastics.
