Huntsman Group recently held a grand ceremony in Shanghai Jinshan Industrial Zone II announcing that its newly invested thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) factory put into operation.

The new plant helps Huntsman better meet the rapid growth of TPU demand in Asia Pacific. TPU has been widely used in consumer and industrial applications, which includes athletic footwear, apparel, automotive interiors, composite glass and others.

CEO of Huntsman Asia Pacific, global CEO of polyurethane division Tony Hankins said, “China has become the largest market in TPU. The new TPU production plant will greatly enhance our supply and we can more quickly and efficiently serve customers in the region. This new investment shows our long-term commitment to the local customers. It will further promote the rapid market growth in the region.”
