Solvay announced its plant in Gujarat (India) will expand the resin capacity by 25%.
Headquartered in Belgium, the company said this plan is designed to meet the strong market demand for its AvaSpire and KetaSpire polymers, the ultra-high performance polymers. These two products are used to reduce the weight of parts in automotive and aerospace industries.
Augusto Di Donfrancesco, the General Manager of Solvay Specialty Polymers division, said there is a substantial increase in demand for KetaSpire and AvaSpire polymers.
“Today’s announcement to debottleneck capacity shows that we are determined to keep pace with this growing demand worldwide,it also demonstrates our customers’ creativity in making use of the performance of Solvay specialty polymers,”Di Donfrancesco said in a statement.
Solvay pointed out that it has been gradually expanding the plant’s resin capacity since the test run of PEAK resin plant in Panoli Gujarat in 2008.
